Bullet's kill people.... and keep you up-to-date!

A bullet-list to get you up-to-date on my projects/life.

• Thanks to the library commercial, I’m getting a lot of buzz on the website. In fact, it’s created such a stir in the “library” realm, that I was contacted by a guy in Colorado who tours the nation, talking about bookmobile services. He asked for permission to use the video in his presentations, claiming that, in everyone, he’ll log on to the site and watch it directly from there. I guess the next best thing to getting paid is to get exposure to your work, and I’m VERY thankful for the responses I’ve gotten.

Opportunities (not necessarily jobs) have been popping up all around me; besides a few possible internships, I’m planning on doing another commercial for the library, a promotional video for Vision4Living ministries and am in the works with a magician friend of mine to up-date his video, as well. Busy days ahead.

• I turned down a job (not film related) a few weeks ago; although it would have been a fun job and great pay, I think it would have detracted too much from my spiritual life (I had to work most Sundays, making it virtually impossible to attend church services), so I turned it down. Most would (and have) thought it was a crazy decision, but I know it was the right call for now.

• I’m hoping that, with some extra work, I can soon afford some equipment I need to freelance for efficiently.

• The MLB Playoffs are disappointing me this year, and the new “schedule” is ridiculous. (“There’s only one NOVEMBER!”)

• I realized that Andrew Kramer is my greatest film influence.

• Christmas is coming soon.

Blu Frog Movie Trailer

My video for the Blu Frog Energy Drink is finished, and the DVD has been sent. Since it is a video competition, and I no longer own the rights to the video, I probably won't post it until the contest is over.

However, for those who are dying to check it out, here are a few screencaps to hold you over.

I play the evil super-villain, bent on destroying the world... Look at the havoc I've caused!

Our hero, Blu Frog (my brother Nate), fighting in the city streets to defend our world.

Blu Frog, the guardian of the night.

I'll let you know if we win... Or, if it gets pushed back to next month.

"Where have you been, busy little bee?"

Am I Conspiring to overthrow the Roman empire? Nope, I'm just busy with film projects.

Tonight, I finish filming a commercial for a video contest for Blu Frog energy drink. It's based off the superhero film I made a few years ago, but we'll make some modified changes to make it to make it more about the energy drink than about superheros... Greenscreening in the garage is ALWAYS fun.

Friday-Saturday, I'm planning on returning to Bryan College, and film and be filmed in a commercial for the Film Department there. Not sure what I'll say about life since graduation, but I look forward to reuniting with the guys.

The following week, I will finish the Blu Frog commercial, and go straight into a video for the Bryan College Worldview Team on Darwinism and Intelligent Design. In prepping for the project, I've been watching every known documentary and youtube clip known to man (or ape.)

Finally, on September 17th, I'll be hosting a Worldview Movie Discussion group. We'll be watching The Cider House Rules and discussing Postmodernism. Hopefully, it will be an enlightening experience.

So, that sums up my future projects. Oh, and during this time, I have to find a job...

Homebound Delivery Service shoot!

Last Sunday, I shot a small, DIY, web commercial at the Alexandrian Public Library for their Homebound Delivery Service program. The commercial features one of my favorite actors (and friends) Drew Fendrich as a stealth-like spy. (I've always wanted to do a spy movie or commercial.) Besides myself, I was able to contract a little help from my younger sister Hilary, and from my dad, who stopped by during the shoot, and helped us out.

The shoot, which took place after the library had closed for the day, lasted about five hours, and we shot a lot of material in that time (around 20 camera setups.) It also included some small special effects shots, all of which turned out great. The motion graphics work (which was finished a few months ago) is now being added to the commercial and, we'll be recording the voice overs and finishing the mixes sometime this week. Hopefully, with in the next week, we'll have a finished project.

And, always remember, with a little imagination, that book cart can be a fantastic dolly... Only in the world of DIY.
